Raymond Tallis

Raymond Tallis is a retired gerontologist and a prolific philosopher and author. After a long career as a medical practictioner during which he was Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Manchester and a consultant physician in Health Care of the Elderly in Salford, he retired in 2006 to devote himself to writing. His numerous publications includeThe Enduring Significance of Parmenides: Unthinkable Thought (Continuum, 2007) and The Kingdom of Infinite Space: A Fantastical Journey Round Your Head (Atlantic, 2008). His latest book Michaelangelo’s Finger is published in January 2010 by Atlantic.
