Carole Tongue, FRSA is a former [Member of the European Parliament](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_of_the_European_Parliament "Member of the European Parliament") for London East, (1984-1999), and Deputy Leader of the [European Parliamentary Labour Party](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Parliamentary_Labour_Party "European Parliamentary Labour Party"), (1989-1991).
