# Martin Cloonan

Martin Cloonan is Professor of Popular Music Politics in the Department of Music, University of Glasgow. His books include [Banned! Censorship of Popular Music in Britain; 1967-1992](https://www.ashgate.com/shopping/title.asp?key1=&key2=&orig=results&isbn=1%2085742%20300%203), (Arena, 1993) and Popular Music and the State in the UK (Ashgate). His most recent book, co-authored book, is The History of Live Music in the UK: Volume 1: From the Dance Hall to the 100 Club (Ashgate, 2013).
