This privacy policy sets out how the Rationalist Association (hereafter RA) uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website.

The RA is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

What we collect

For the purposes of our newsletter we will collect your email address. We will not share this information with a third party.

Security

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

The RA is committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Passwords you enter on our site are always transmitted over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection with 128-bit encryption. Before being stored they are "salted" using a key unique to your account, and then hashed using SHA-256 one-way encryption. This ensures they are virtually impossible to decipher even with access to the data.

External links

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Controlling your personal information

The RA will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.

We use a third-party tracking service called Google Analytics that uses cookies to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site such as internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp. We use this information to better gain an understanding about how our site is used by visitors, helping us to update and improve the web site.
